Water or mild/pH friendly soap & water
Certain pessaries can be kept in situ like the Ring or Ring with Support but others will need to be removed for this.
The only two from our range containing metal is the Gehrung & Hodge - these pessaries will need to be removed for MRI scans & other radiology procedures.
We recommend 3 to 6 monthly checks although the Health Care Professional will clarify this depending on the type of pessary & symptoms – the pessary is removed, the vagina is checked, the pessary is washed then reinserted. If the patient is self-managing then yearly checks are recommended.
